Our Charities

Deaf Can:Do, The Royal South Australian Deaf Society

Deaf Can:Do has been supporting the South Australian Deaf and hard of hearing community since 1891.

Established by Townsend House Superintendent Samuel Johnson, Deaf Can:Do is South Australia’s second oldest charitable service provider.

A lot has changed since then, but they are still the only South Australian provider of community support options for people who are Deaf or hard of hearing. From NDIS planning, crisis support, Auslan/English interpreting services and day to day challenges – they will be there.

Can:Do 4Kids, Townsend House

Can:Do 4Kids want children, young people and their families to live life focused on what they CAN do.

That’s why they formed in 1874: to provide support and services to children, young people and their families, who are blind, Deaf, have low vision, are hard of hearing, or have sensory needs. Can:Do 4Kids works with families to help them communicate better, connect easier and live their best lives.

There are up to 10,000 South Australian kids facing every day with hearing and vision challenges, they need our help and support.
