Hearing Awareness Week "That Sounds Better"

Hearing Awareness Week "That Sounds Better"

Our 2023 Hearing Awareness Week Campaign "That Sounds Better" is ready to launch!

1-7 March 2023

The empathy and compassion promoted by Hearing Awareness Week, generally leads (each year) to an increased sensitivity to the experiences, needs, and aspirations of people with hearing loss. So, it’s always a good awareness week for us to get onboard with! And we are!

The focus for our 2023 campaign is “hearing is important”, encouraging people (who may not have considered previously) to take care of the hearing they already have, using snippets of some of the sounds we love to hear, whether they be from the serenity of the beach, a good heart beat, waves crashing, laughter when out, vibrant music, noises that alert us to danger for our own safety, our pets, cars, radio talk back presenters, or more!!

We'd love your support to share this message - and our social profile stories. You might recognise a few faces!

>> We'll be seen on TV (C10 and SBS), heard on radio (FIVEaa), shared on the socials (Facebook, Insta and here on LinkedIn), PLUS promoted through the Seniors Card network, ASO eNotes and InDaily Editorials / SA Life advertising.

>> We'll be encouraging the community to select, by choice, a local not-for-profit who supports kids as an offshoot to regular day to day activities to do with hearing.

>> We'll ask people to benchmark their hearing with us and to consider their hearing health as part of their regular wellbeing checkups (like they manage their teeth, hair or eyes).
