Adults
We offer a full range of custom ear moulds. As these are individual to a person’s ear, a short appointment will be booked to take an impression of the outer ear and ear canal. Your audiologist will explain the procedure and take the impression.
In addition to providing high-quality, custom-fit protection, we also take the time to help you choose the most suitable option for your hearing needs, lifestyle and environment.
Our range includes:
Solid custom earplugs
Designed to eliminate outside noises by up to 40 dB, suitable for industrial noise, loud concert goers, construction workers, military and aircraft operators.
These plugs are long-lasting, durable and ideal for people requiring reliable protection during regular exposure to hazardous noise.
Sleeping custom earplugs
Designed for a quiet and comfortable sleep, or a quiet environment while travelling or studying
Their soft materials and low-profile fit help reduce irritation while still offering effective noise reduction for light sleepers.
Musicians’ custom earplugs
Designed to protect hearing while preserving the clarity of sound. Users are able to select the level of attenuation and hearing protection, preserving a clear and natural sound quality. These specialist earplugs can be passive (set attenuation) or electronic (only attenuates at a particular input level and above).
Musician-specific filters ensure balanced sound reduction across frequencies—allowing performers, sound engineers and regular gig-goers to enjoy high-quality audio without compromising their hearing health.
Can:Do Hearing is the trusted musician earplug supplier to the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra.
Swimmers’ or surfers custom earplugs
Ear moulds designed to protect ears from water and infection.
These are commonly recommended for individuals prone to ear infections, grommets, or repeated exposure to water through swimming, surfing or aquatic sports.
Are you familiar with surfer's ear? If not, get yourself a pair of good ear plugs before it is too late
Surfer’s ear (exostosis) is a preventable condition that develops slowly over time due to cold wind and water exposure. Custom earplugs offer one of the most effective long-term protections.
When to Consider Custom Hearing Protection
Custom ear moulds may be appropriate if you:
Work or spend time in environments with loud, sustained or sudden noise
Swim or surf frequently
Have recurring ear infections or sensitive ear canals
Need high-fidelity sound without distortion (e.g., musicians or performers)
Are seeking long-term, comfortable alternatives to standard foam or silicone plugs
Our audiologists can assess your needs and help guide you to the most suitable option.
Care & Maintenance of Custom Ear Moulds
To ensure the best fit and longest lifespan:
Clean moulds regularly with approved cleaning wipes or solutions
Avoid exposure to high heat
Store moulds in a protective case
Have the fit checked annually, especially if you experience discomfort or changes in seal
Proper care helps maintain hygiene, comfort and optimal performance.
Babies
Babies earmuffs use an adjustable headband to hold the earmuffs in place, preventing uneven pressure on the sides of your baby’s head – much like traditional earmuffs. Recommended for newborn to 18- month olds.
These earmuffs are lightweight, gentle and clinically approved to help protect your baby’s hearing during everyday activities, events or noisy environments.
Hearing protection for babies is particularly important because their ears are more sensitive to sound. Exposure to loud noise can be overwhelming or distressing, especially at events such as:
Weddings or parties
Festivals and concerts
Fireworks displays
Sporting events
Travel or crowded venues
Our team can help you choose the right fit to ensure comfort and secure placement.
Children

Kids earmuffs weigh only 190g and are light and sturdy. Use them to protect your child’s hearing or to help settle them when disturbed by a noisy environment such as concerts, car races or sporting events. They can be folded up to fit in the palm of your hand, making them easy to carry with you or store away.
